Frequently Asked Questions.
Your prices are cheaper than the other tour
companies. Do you visit less Lord of the Rings locations?
We actually go to more locations to show more scenes than any other
tour company in Wellington - we're
proud of that.
One
company says they visit the most locations. But they don't list the
scenes shot in these locations
that they show you - there's reason for that... In fact,
their website shows pictures where a couple of scenes
were filmed, but then don't take you to those places in the tour.
Go figure.
Unlike others, we don't just show you a couple of Hobbiton Woods
scenes, we show all of them.
Our prices are less to
be more affordable for everybody.
Oh,
by the way. If you want to buy rubber ears, they cost $2, not $5.
You include movie clips on location. Do
the other tour companies do this?
No. We are the only Wellington tour company to include movie clips on
location. This has proved extremely
popular with our
passengers. There's nothing like reviewing the scene as you stand
where it was shot.
Are there Lord of the Rings movie sets still remaining?
Unfortunately no. All the sets have been removed.
However, the areas where the scenes were set are beautiful
and people enjoy
learning how the actors and those working behind the scenes use their
imagination. Sit in the
tree where Frodo and Sam sat; walk where
Gandalf and Saruman walked while discussing the ring; do the
Legolas pout
for a picture at the 'Legolas Tree'.
Do you visit
the Chocolate Fish Cafe?
The Chocolate Fish Cafe doesn't exist anymore. Sorry.
Are there
tours of Weta Workshop?
No casual visitors are allowed into Weta due to the strict
confidentiality requirements they have to abide by.
However,
we do visit the
Weta
Cave.
